In Isaiah 28 and 18 it says about your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand. Can someone explain this to me? I am trying to study and learn and I would like to understand this.

Cherisse,
You asked the following.
In Isaiah 28 and 18 it says about your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand. Can someone explain this to me? I am trying to study and learn and I would like to understand this.

I will attempt to address this question and I am sure others will also. The Bible says in the NT that it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment. Well, in my understanding that appointment has been met by Jesus for all mankind. Therefore as a result of the finished work of Jesus our old covenant (agreement) with death (the carnal mind) has been disannulled (cancelled) and the agreement with hell no longer stands. We are now in agreement with Heaven (not a place out beyond the sky but the habitation of God) and our covenant is one of life, not death. This is a result of our acceptance of Christ's finished work. Now the finished work has legally become effective for all man already, and so positionally we are all IN CHRIST. However, many are unaware of their true position and so they see themselves still bound in the first Adam, which is only able to produce death. Death in all realms, spiritually, mentally, and physically. Our job in ministry is to make men and women aware of who they truly are now IN CHRIST. Hope this helps!
IN Christ,
Ken Hill
