ABSOLUTELY CONQUERED

When one steps into this deeper walk, one takes lightly the reports, that suffering is the way to the throne. It just does not register when one still holds to the comforts of this world and suffering seems far past or even further ahead. However, cast one into a session of suffering followed by another and topped with even more. Then one learns "the blessedness of being absolutely conquered! of losing our own strength, and wisdom, and plans, and desires, and being where every atom of our nature is like placid Galilee under the omnipotent feet of our Jesus."

That which is in quotes above is from the message below. I haven't a clue where I found this excerpt, but it is beautiful in it's truth. I share it with those who suffer today, that you might be comforted. I share with those who will suffer tomorrow, that you might remember, the way to your crown is by way of the cross.

Our precious Jesus is our pattern not our substitute. And how very few in this age are called to know this.

In His Sweet Lord Jesus,
John

"SOUL FOOD"
A Book By G. D. Watson - A 19th Century Deeper-Life Author
CHAPTER 7: "THE BENEFIT OF DEEP CRUCIFIXION"

"The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me" (Ps. 138:8).

There is a Divine mystery in suffering, a strange and supernatural power in it, which has never been fathomed by the human reason. There never has been known great saintliness of soul which did not pass through great suffering. When the suffering soul reaches a calm sweet carelessness, when it can inwardly smile at its own suffering, and does not even ask God to deliver it from suffering, then it has wrought its blessed ministry; then patience has its perfect work; then the crucifixion begins to weave itself into a crown.

It is in this state of the perfection of suffering that the Holy Spirit works many marvelous things in our souls. In such a condition, our whole being lies perfectly still under the hand of God; every faculty of the mind and will and heart are at last subdued; a quietness of eternity settles down into the whole being; the tongue grows still, and has but few words to say; it stops asking God questions; it stops crying, "Why hast thou forsaken me ?"

The imagination stops building air castles, or running off on foolish lines; the reason is tame and gentle; the choices are annihilated; it has no choice in anything but the purpose of God. The affections are weaned from all creatures and all things; it is so dead that nothing can hurt it, nothing can offend it, nothing can hinder it, nothing can get in its way; for, let the circumstances be what they may, it seeks only for God and His will, and it feels assured that God is making everything in the universe, good or bad, past or present, work together for its good.

Oh, the blessedness of being absolutely conquered! of losing our own strength, and wisdom, and plans, and desires, and being where every atom of our nature is like placid Galilee under the omnipotent feet of our Jesus. –Soul Food

John,
His cross was my cross! When HE was on teh cross I was there too. That's why the word says I am crucified WITH CHRIST. Not that I now need to be crucified, I was crucified in HIM just in the same manner that I had been brought into the first ADAM and his fall, I was brought into CHRIST on the cross. You see, as long as you see only one person dying on the cross in the form of Jesus, you are not seeing enough. When the revelation of JESUS taking all humanity truly comes into you it won't be a matter anymore of your dying to self, its done, your suffering to supposedly bring good to someone, HIS SUFFERING was my suffering as I am IN HIM. Nothing you suffer causes any one redemption, salvation, reconciliation, deliverance, or anything of value. You don't have that power to complete a work that is already finished. Since the work is already finished, and JESUS SAID "IT IS FINISHED" and His words are truth more than any opinion anyone could offer, then to think that anything you do or suffer says that Jesus' work was not enough for you and you somehow can finish what He didn't complete. Ludicrous thoughts indeed!

P.S.
The title of the above article speaks loudly to me.
SOUL FOOD
Its time to stop living out of your soul, your own thinking and move on up to the Spirit. That more than anything will change your mind.

You seem to glory in your infirmity and in doing so you glorify disease, not God.

No fear here John! The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?
His cross was my cross! And that is the way to the kingdom, not bearing one myself. Seeing myself on His is the way, John. He bore ALL my disease, sickness, and infirmity, so I don't ave to bare it. He took my sin and gave me His righteousness so that I can walk as HIM in the earth. And it was by HIS stripes we were healed. May be time for you to lay down your cross and get nailed to His.

Ken, throw yourself onto the Rock and be broken; or you can wait for it to fall on you and be ground into powder (cf. Luke 20:18, Daniel 2:34,35). Either way, sooner or later, the Rock wins.

How this poem so spoke to my current situation, even to my oxygen needs. The porm didn't have a title so I used it in a blog with the title "THE CAGED BIRD SINGS." Yes the Lord has caged me; it is "Him, who placed me there." And there in my confinement my soul has learned to be carried by the winds of the Spirit as it flies and sings.

A little bird I am,
Shut from the fields of air,
And in my cage I sit and sing
To Him who placed me there;
Well pleased a prisoner to be,
Because, my God, it pleaseth Thee.

My cage confines me round,
Abroad I cannot fly,
But though my wing is closely bound,
My soul is at liberty;
For prison walls cannot control
The flight, the freedom of the soul.

John,
Been founded on the rock for many years mt friend. It is the rock Christ Jesus, the lover of my soul, notthe mean God you present.
As it says in JOb 37:23
Touching the almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: HE WILL NOT AFFLICT.

Either we have a Bible that contradicts itself, or God is contradicting Himself, if as you say, He is putting all this stuff on us. Personally, I believe it is your doctrine that is amiss, not the word of God. Flawed understanding will never lead you to truth.
As for me I am done with this as I have more important things to spend my time on than wasting it on someone who wont even answer a simple question. Have a nice life.

Oh my friend, you can make the Bibles say just about anything. It was written that way for the expressed purpose that it takes the Spirit to find truth in that which seems to contradict.

If you walk by the Spirit, you will also find the Kingdom of God is filled with paradox for the same reason.

It is a Spirit led walk Ken and funny thing happened on the way to the throne. Some became big in their own eyes desiring to Lord it over others. This happens mostly with those that take Reverend before their name or with those that love to ride high before others in a raised pulpit. Man's ordination of a preacher is a most damnable thing.

There is the problem! Might it be yours?

Come on down brother, the day of pulpiteers is over. God will have no chaste system in His kingdom. Not when the least is to be the greatest and the last first. My friend it is the Servant that wears the crown.

Now pick up thy cross, pilgrim. As Christ suffered you might also. Do not be afraid.

John
