The Mystery of Iniquity

I have been thinking about this scripture all day since I watched a video.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

I believe when we see words in the bible italicized, they have been added. It reads...

Let no man deceive you by any means: for, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. 4- Who opposeph and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

I welcome input on this scripture, and would love to hear some opinions as to the interpretation of what this means in our lives today.

Gayle,
I am sure there is more than what I can share with you but here is my input.
In my present understanding, which is developing constantly, I see the man of sin, the son of perdition, as the antiChrist, which means basically anything that stands instead of or in the place of Christ. Of course the temple of God is our bodies (the naos) and the man of sin that attempts to stand up and rule in our temple, but it is the understanding of the finished work on the cross that causes us to be able to cleanse the temple, just as Jesus cleansed the natural temple. In my thinking it ties in with casting down imaginations and many other verses, and perhaps will elaborate more in time.
Hope this makes sense to you and blesses you.
Love IN Christ,
Ken Hill

P.S. Thanks for the nice comments and it is my pleasure to share what is in my heart. Thanks for the opportunity to do that with this website.

I believe this scripture is talken about the AntiChrist that will come after the rapture. You people need to talk to some preachers. You dont have to worry because you will get to see him.

Ken, We just wanted you to know we appreciate and support you in ministry. We absolutely have no reservations about the call of God in your life, and if to expound, the intent of your heart is precisely discerned.

We hear so many say "God sees your heart," and we identify unambigiguously. We too foresee the heart of each other from beyond the veil, and are conscious of it's desires.

We speak of how your aspiration to minister God's purpose is so apparent, that you continue to make yourself available to hear, and to nurture without hesitation.

The word admonishes us to write the vision, for without vision people perish. We see your vision as unblemished, strong and clear, and understand you have tarried. We are aware of the wait, knowing this wait is a limited duration, its temporary.

We encourage you in your unwavering devotion, to be alert, for what you have planted will come forth SUDDENLY, it will come as a thief in the night! And you will gather the result of what you have longed for. Be of good cheer, for in season your yielding has produced much fruit. Love In Christ, Michael and Gayle

Thank you for elaborating on this scripture Ken, I really wanted to hear someone, other then myself explain it from their perspective.

I typed it because we recently had a guest in our home who used this scripture to explain how the AntiChrist would appear, after the rapture had taken place.

I have also used this scripture to teach the rapture theory, in the past. I must admit, I could not truly explain it, however, I have used books that people have written to tie it together. Honestly, I believed the book writer's were more intelligant then I was, and this absolutely might be true, perhaps because of a degree, or maybe becaue I had no confidence in myself.

I now believe that those I trusted were sincere in their beliefs, and as resourceful as possible. They used the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel, Isaiah, and many others to logically process a religious theory they had heard all their lives. They counted generations, looking for a certain number, and rationalized scripture to mean what they had been taught themselves.

I will never forget the day I heard this scripture. I had taught it, read it, and had been taught by many preachers what this scripture was talking about. I had never truly heard it, from my inner ear.

Michael was reading from this chapter to someone else, not even with this verse in mind, and I had an ear to hear in a moment. I asked him to repeat the verse, and then I had to look at it for myself. I remember thinking of all the times I had read that verse, and never applied it to me. I suppose because I had seen a falling away, happen in my own life, I saw the letter come off the page. I saw myself in the first sentence of that verse.

It was an unbelievable experience, because it was so transparent, as it described the two natures struggling for dominance inside of me. I recognized who had been sitting in the Temple thinking herself God prior to becoming a new creation in Christ. My struggle was within, and I believe all of our strugles are inside of us.

There had been so much change in my life, and even before this change, I was already a Christian. I held several positions in the church, I had began to study and seek God in an alone place, and the Lord had become my husband.

It had been easy to blame the devil for all that was wrong in my life, but suddenly, I realized the day I was looking for, the day of the Lord, could not come without my understanding that I was that man of sin sitting in my temple.

We encounter process by experiences, and I had been taught the AntiChrist would sit in the temple of God in the day of the Lord. The bible talks in the book of revelation, about John turning, while he was in the isle of Patmos(meaning "MY KILLING") It says he was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day.

This day spoken of is in our past, and John was in the THE LORD'S DAY. I believe we will each experience The Lord's Day or the Day Of The Lord. The only antiChrist we will see in the Temple of God is the anti- Christ Spirit that dwells in man. Cor. 15 talks about the two natures that dwell in us.

I question why people think of a Temple in Jerusalem immediately after reading this scripture. The only rational explanation that comes to me, is this is what they have heard all of their lives. Jesus said we are the Temple of God. The truth is, people refuse to think for themselves.

A falling away first, is explained as Christians being taken out of the earth. This is not biblical, and how does someone come to conclude they fall away.

The very first message I taught after I began to search the scriptures was that God hides. I took it from Psalms 10. I have since understood how the word is full of mysteries, and hidden symbolic language, and how the revelation of God is about what has been unveiled or hidden. He wants to sit in our Temple, and it is his desire to remove the covering from our face, and expose the hidden secrets from before the foundation of the world.

He is not interested in a people serving him from a far off. I believe those who first began indoctrinating the Rapture Theory, and distorting the true gospel were clever, as they schemed to manipulate a people who would stay under their control.

I find it strange when those who hold fast to this doctrine come on the site and bash what I am teaching, they never even try to substantiate their belief. When I explain the teaching came from the Catholic Church, I would think a Rapture believing person would be excited for the opportunity to teach their understanding of how this came about. They are Free to show the scriptures, and the experiences they have had, to prove this belief. I know of many preachers who have come to this site, and we would welcome input on the subject.

My frustration is that so many are believing a lie, and they have their eyes shut, and when a verse is before them, they refuse to take the time to study for themselves. They are confident that their friends are okay with it, their pastor says its true, and they are willing to be deceived. Gayle

II Thes 2:10 ..because they received not the LOVE OF the truth.

Something happened inside when the Spirit began to reveal hidden mysteries to me. And I know it has happened to writers on this site. A little fire started and now has become a blaze. It is called the LOVE of the truth. A passion, a burning desire to know HIM and to understand. A love, love, love for HIS revealed truths.

It is this love that we seek. We simply shut out the world, distractions, television shows, etc.. and go to a quiet place to read, research, dig a little deeper just for one more nugget.

Gayle this is the answer to your frustration.
You said: My frustration is that so many are believing a lie, and they have their eyes shut, and when a verse is before them, they refuse to take the time to study for themselves. When we LOVE something, anything. It is that which we persue.

I look at past church experiences. Entire congregations are built on certain things. Some camps love the glory and fire, dancing, shouting, or tongues. Others healings and miracles. Yet other ministries are all prosperity. Even some Kingdom folks are built on anti rapture. All are snippets of truth. And those snippets usually come from someone else before them.
But where we see growth and real Christ nature is in the deep burning desire and true LOVE of the TRUTH. These are the elect that will not believe, buy, or sell out to a lie or false doctrine.

Vs 3 Let no man deceive you by any means for that DAY
(enlightenment/understanding) shall not come except there be a great falling away and that man of sin be revealed.
That man of sin has not received a LOVE of the truth.

This love of truth is birthed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. The light turns on. Then we have an awe ha moment. I see! We hear a scripture for the first time in a new light. It speaks volumes and then we say: " I knew this somehow before" and we did...know it before. This in turn causes more junk to 'fall away' from us and so on.

I have laid in my bed at night longing for his truths/words to become larger than life inside of me.
Feeling as if I was in birth pains as I prayed for this. Only to find the next step would bring more trials and then afterward a change in my thinking and then another verse revealed/enlightened.

At times I have been like Jonah..vomited back up only to obey then angry at God. Like Joseph betrayed by family/friends and those I loved dearly. And I have had my Judas moments. But I long inside for the Lord Jesus to be revealed within. Inside of me. To become his temple. MY temple his mansion fit for a king and not some run down poor pitiful shack.

I love his word, and long to bring honor to Him. I cannot stop now and just settle ...it's too late now to compromise. I HAVE TO KNOW HIM.

the Love of His Truth to all today,
Bev

Bev,
I was recently in a meeting and heard a minister friend bring out something that I at first thought was totally in error on his part but after thinking of it I wonder if it were I that missed it.
He was speaking on the verse from Revelation where it speaks of the "lukewarm being spewed out of God's mouth" and he spoke of this as a positive experience rather than a negative one as we have heard it said in times past. He tied it in with Jonah being spewed out of the mouth of the whale (big fish) and how that afterward he ceased to be lukewarm anymore but on fire for God. Just thought I'd pass that along and see what it stirs.

Guest,
Obviously you only have a religious teaching and haven't studied anything for yourself, but have bitten the lie hook line and sinker on the rapture and the supposed forthcoming antichrist. Let me ask you a question. John in one of his books in the New Testament said that "even now are there many antochrists in the world." He also said and qualified what an antichrist was. It was one who denied tha father and the son. That is what an antichrist is, not a future world ruler. Open your eyes and see that there is no way there will ever be ONE RULER over the world except GOD AND HIS KINGDOM manifesting from within his believers.

America can't even agree within itself on one president and we expect carnal minded men to willingly come under the rule of one future antichrist, how ridiculous. Anti does not mean only against, it also means IN THE PLACE OF OR INSTEAD OF. Anything that in your life or mine stands between you/us and God is antichrist in nature. By the way, just FYI and not meant to sound self centered in any way as I do not wish to promote myself here, as I personally am still learning more all the time, I have personally been preaching the gospel for over 38 years now, so perhaps it would be a good idea to know who you are speaking to before making such claims/statements as you have above.

All of you guys have a blessed day.
Ken
