My boyfriend dreamed that he found my left hand on the kitchen table, missing the middle finger. He picked up my hand and proceeded to eat all the other fingers! I could use some help folks (Mike in particular, please!). I know this seems silly, and I have debated even asking- but it just nags at me that there is something to this that I should know. All I can think of concerning several fingers is the five fold ministry, and that the left hand tends to be the one representing discipline... (?)

Likewise, I appreciate your concern. When I first began to walk with the Lord, I valued dreams too much. He rebuked me for it using John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Rather than forbidding me to find any meaning in any dream, He has guided my growth in discernment regarding them.

The right hand represents the AUTHORITY of God and His POWER.

The hand that moves by the works of the flesh is the left hand. The hand that moves by the SPIRIT is the right hand.
The kitchen table represents the place/alter where you have laid/repented of all the works of the flesh. "For if your hand causes you to sin than chop it off..."

The fingers are those that are used nimbly to weave...and the middle finger represents the strongest area of weakness that has now been dealt with and is NO MORE! Praise the Lord!

I am not clear as to what 'my boyfriend' is the type/shadow of....I would seek the Lord on that.

I like what you have said. As for fingers, we have this:
Matthew 23:4. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

With a "finger" one may undo heavy burdens. And to that we can add "the works of one's hands" as in this text:

Psalm 8:5. For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

As for eating flesh and blood we have these Words:

John 6:51. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 52. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

What you need to ask yourself is, "What kind of works am I instructing him (your boy-friend) to do? Are those works approved by the Lamb of God"? If Jesus is in you through and through, then eating your hand is like eating his left hand. He said we must eat his flesh and blood to have "life in us"! Since you like dreams, perhaps you now have something to mull over.

I used the words that the fingers are are what 'nimbley weave'....and while this is true I see this more for the Hand of Faith....instead of for the left hand.

Holy Spirit quickened in me that the fingers in this dream represent more of the 'fingers for battle'.
As scripture explains to us that our flesh wars against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh. I see these fingers representing those areas in your life that have battled against your Spirit. And now they are being overcome one by one...until they are no more....being SWALLOWED UP.

Obviously, the only hand that would still be attached to yourself in the dream is your RIGHT HAND...and that is a WONDERFUL THING...for as we see in nature when a tree is pruned it forces the sap to energize and make STRONGER the other limbs. As the works of the flesh are being dealt with and pruned (cut off/swallowed up)... you will see that the works of the Spirit by the HAND of the Spirit will be increased and even more empowered. Whewww....HalleluYah!

Am I saying that your relationship with your boyfriend is wrong. I cant say cause I dont know how deep it goes. If there is fornication or adultery then this would definitely ill affect your ability to minister in any way to many people especially those close to you.

Just relaying what I felt, only you will know the truth.
